The mawney Arms, Romford.
Went for a meal for my mum's birthday. Sadly it's gone downhill. Slow service after ordering from table. I had to remind them twice that we didn't have our drinks. No fryer for some on the mains, deserts were limited and no decaf coffee from coffee machine only nescafe from a sachet. Overall a bit disappointed.

Harrow Lodge Pub, well what can I say. Under staffed, tired looking, antiquated air con that doesn't work. The staff looked tired and unenthusiastic. Waited 45 mins to be served main course and a further 25 mins for desert. Won't be going back any time soon.

Wheatsheaf, Bargate, Grimsby. I have been frequenting this pub for over 50 years and eat here probably once a week usually having excellent food and service. It has rapidly declined! My last two visits this month have not been enjoyable and I have returned my food as it has been inedible. On the first occasion the salad was not fresh. Last night the meal was cold and burnt - there was black flakey bits in my rice. Everything which came out of the kitchen looked cremated, as though it had been cooked twice. The smell from the kitchen was terrible - burnt fat smell! I can still smell this in my hair and taste it this morning. (We were not sitting anywhere near the kitchen). The service was poor. Dirty tables. (Certainly not enough staff). The decor is dingy and cobwebs hung I the corner above us. I will not be returning for a while. Very disappointed.

Booked a table at Ship Ashore, Willen, Milton Keynes for 11am Bruch on Saturday 9th July. Told on arrival we don't do food until 12 due to no chef. Why take the online booking in the first place?. Appreciate you may not have staff but you should not have taken the table booking on line. Now also too late to get brunch in most places but clocked for the future Weatherspoons menu looks good.

Booked table online. Turned up - no record of booking. Showed email confirmation. Offered table. Showed Ember Inns voucher offering 50% off mains. Was told by management that offer pulled for their pub but that they had not been given reason. Left (shame, as we've quite enjoyed mediocre food there in past) and had excellent meal at our local Thai.

Went to Wheatsheaf, Grimsby, for evening (6 30) meal with family, including frail 80-year-old lady. Waited almost two hours for meal to arrive. No apology when it finally arrived. Food was appalling - mine had been microwaved to death. Will never ever go to an Ember Inn again

Table booked 6 people for fathers day extremely disappointed with the Roast dinners. Beef very chewy, and the parsnips so burnt were inedible, on many previous visits staff always came to your table after food had arrived to ensure everything was satisfactory not on this visit very disappointing ?
Tried to order desserts from app no signal went to order from bar to be told by a disinterested staff member there was a 40 minute wait decision was made to leave
Not the best Father's day as planned ?

I was ripped off at The Holyhead in Coventry. They served me a glass of soft drink and completely topped up the glass with ice before dispensing the drink. So I paid for a full glass of branded cola but only received 2/3 of a glass in reality.
The food was terrible, mostly cold and many of their menu items were unavailable so I had to have second choice on mains and dessert.
The bill was calculated incorrectly so had I not checked it I would have been greatly overcharged.
One of my friends had to send the battered fish back as there was hardly any fish in it.
I will never use The Holyhead Pub again and by the look of the other reviews an Ember Inn neither.
They have far to much competition to be this bad!
Pathetic!!!

Twice in the space of three weeks i have had cause to complain about The Three Hammers in Mill Hill.
First time I had booked a table for supper for two only to be advised when we arrived that the kitchen wasn't working due to an electrical fault although other diners were eating hot meals, when we asked for a sandwich we were told that the kitchen doesn't make sandwiches after 4pm...


Today i booked a table for 6 for lunch - arrived to be told the kitchen is closed on a monday -

why accept a booking at all if there is no service. We were told we could buy drinks!!!!

Went to The Duck In The Pond last night only to find buckets of urine all over the floor, and water gushing through the ceiling where the toilets are! None of the staff seemed bothered or that this is a serious health hazard! I have photos!

The most disgusting food ever o had in my entire Life fully of oil, steak burn completely and dry, definitely I don't recommend this place at all. Its my first and last visit. Expensive and food crap.

We went to the 7 Stars in Exeter for a meal and drinks with friends, the food was perfect the service impeccable, good choice for vegetarians, wide range of beer. One of our favourite pubs in the city. Well done 7 Stars?

Visited the Wheatsheaf recently - fabulous experience. Service and food was wonderful. Great night out with the girls.

We have eaten at the gryphon, grange park, the stag and hound Edmonton and last night the ridgeway Enfield. All 3 ember inns, all 3 equally bad food.
Quality of food is bad, portions small, salads and veg not fresh. Poor presentation, portions not worth the money. All round poor menu, with little variation for vegetarians also. It’s really sad as the staff in all 3 sites are great. With the amount of Mediterranean restraints all over north london who give real value for money, ember inns your missing a trick for sure. We won’t bother again, I cook far better food at home…..

Generally really like ember inns food and range of drinks. Recent visit and had fish & chips. Seems there is no option for garden peas on the app. More importantly the portion of mushy peas is tiny. They came in a pot not much bigger than a thimble.
